Queen Hatsheput Facts – Long Live the Queen!

Hatshepsut was known for being the longest reigning pharaoh who got to dominate over Egypt. Her dominance lasted for almost two decades and this was true in the year 15^th century. Because of this, she was considered and dubbed as the most successful pharaoh of Egypt. The queen was born in the 1508 BC. She served as such together with her husband who was named as Thutmose II. After he died though, the role of being a pharaoh was claimed by someone else. This was done by regent directing to her own step-son, who was named Thutmose III. The queen, needless to say, had her reign peaceably. She was able to build monuments and temples under her power. This resulted to Egypt flourishing. However, the moment she died, Thutmose III had to erase inscriptions and she even tried to just eradicate most of her memories.

In her early life, it was reported that Thutmose II just died not even completing the wife’s entire term. This was the reason why the pharaoh turned into a widow even before she reached 30. She didn’t get to bare sons. However, she had a daughter whom she called Neferure. Despite of the earlier, she also got to own an male heir. He was born from a concubine and then he was named as Isis.

Thutmose III was just too young in order for the throne to be assumed. This was the reason why Hatshepsut had to serve as his regent in order to guide him accordingly. The role was handled traditionally until such time when reasoning became a bit unclear to many. This was the time when she had to claim the role of being the pharaoh itself. Technically speaking, the crown was not usurped by Hatshepsut. This was for the fact that Thutmose III was not deposed. She was just considered to be the co-ruler for her entire existence. It was very clear though that Hatshepsut was the so called principal ruler most especially the one dubbed with the right power.

The traditional crown and kilt of the king were both depicted traditionally coming off with a male body and even a fake beard. Do not get this wrong because this was not his attempt to somehow have people tricked. It was not meant to be as such. There were no proper words or even images for women to portray the status. It was really like this. This was the reason why authority has to be asserted at some point. The successful transition from being a queen to then a pharaoh, on most parts, occurred because her fluent ability to have supporters who are influential enough. There were also tons of men who supported her. She was favored by most of the officials out there, like that of her father, the then Thutmose I. This was the time when Senenmut served as one of her very important advisors. She was then the queen of most servants out there and this was observed during her rose to fame and power.
